The Touchable book is a combination of observation and discovery of daily objects. Through photography, i found those beautiful patterns and shapes within each object, from the food i like to my favorite sweater. By printing those images on fabric with the selected materials inside each page, i created The Touchable Book. Through interaction and visual displaying, the project encourages the audience to focus on the present and appreciate its value. In the end, to encourage people to find beauty in everyday life.
as I continue to explore the concept, I went to using sand as my media to do more exploration. Sand can shape into different forms, but it can be changed and destroyed in another moment. It's like every moment in our lives. It's flash, a glimpse just like sands. Using shadows to reflect the context on the sands, I tried to stop the time at this moment to inform the audience to feel the present.
